The Department of Law and Businesspresently offers a four year degree Programme in Law and Business. Itwas approved by the Hong Kong Council for Academic Accreditation(HKCAA) to offer a four-year Bachelor of Commerce (Honours) degree inLaw and Business.
Theprogramme is hosted by the Department of Law and Business and will befurther developed and delivered in collaboration with the Department ofBusiness Administration.
TheBachelor of Commerce with Honours in Law and Business is a full-timefour-year programme. Students are required to complete a minimun of 124credits to qualify for graduation.
The special aims of the degree programme are: |
| - Toprovide a degree programme that is appealing to prospective students inHong Kong. It is suggested that the appeal is enhanced by the provisionof a flexible programme that allows students to prepare for a range ofcareer opportunities in business and finance upon graduation.

- Toprovide an integrated programme that enables students to appreciate andunderstand the interface between law and business and the role of lawin achieving effective and ethical business dealings and an efficientmarket economy.

- To provide a programme that has both a theoretical and practicaldimension, so that graduates are able not only to operate in thebusiness environment, but are also able to anticipate and manage change.

- To provide a programme that recognizes the importance of Hong Kong asan international business and financial centre and the growingimportance of China in the global economy, and equips graduates withthe knowledge and skills to operate effectively in that environment.

- To provide a programme that is innovative in content and sets highacademic standards, to enhance its domestic reputation and facilitatestrong collaborative arrangements with foreign universities.

| - Todevelop students’ capacity for critical and independent thinking, toenable them to adapt to and provide leadership in an ever changingcommercial environment.

- Tostrengthen students’ language competency in English and Chinese, sothat they can communicate clearly and cogently in presentingtheoretical arguments, and in writing reports.
