B.B.A. (Hons.)  Program

Contemporary research studies suggest that the future of our business society needs ethical and imaginative leaders at every levels.  To develop business leaders possess with not only strong professional knowledge but also trust and integrity is the principal aim of our four-year B.B.A. (Hons.) Program.  

We adopted a holistic approach to education, which required students to study a wide-variety of courses from various disciplines.  As a result, in addition to core competencies in business disciplines, our students will be equipped strong communication skills and possessed a strong sense of responsibility in their work.

A variety of courses and electives are offered to our students, in three major dedicated concentrations: Financial Services and Planning, Human Resources Management, and Marketing.

Minimum Entry Requirements

Applicants* must have:

● Passed the HKCEE with at least six E grade subjects or above, including Chinese and English; and passed Chinese Language and Culture and Use of English in Hong Kong Advanced Supplementary Level (‘AS” Level) Examination, plus passing at least one Advanced Level (‘A’ Level) subject in Hong Kong Advanced Level Examination in one sitting or equivalent.

● Completed an Associate Degree; or

● Attained equivalent education standards from overseas countries.

* All candidates for admission will be interviewed as part of the selection process.


● Program structure

This program design ensures that our graduates have a thorough understanding in the core aspects of business and management.  Students may maintain a broad-based approach in their choice of business electives or choose their electives from one of a cluster courses.  There are three major concentrations: Financial Services & Planning, Marketing, and Human Resources Management.  In future, our department will launch two new concentrations in Corporate Governance and China Business.



Concentrate Electives for the Financial Services & Planning Concentration

Tax Planning, Insurance, Financial Planning, Financial Institutions in H.K.



Concentrate Electives for the Marketing Concentration

Public Relations: Theory and Practice, Fundamentals of Advertising, China Marketing, Consumer Behavior



Concentrate Electives for the Human Resource Management Concentration

Asia Pacific Management Issues, Asia Pacific Industrial Relations, Training and Development, Performance and Compensation Management


● Courses offered

Our four-year BBA (Hons) program provides an all-round business education to students, while at the same time allows students to focus in one of the three concentrations of our program.  There are four different groups of courses:



● Language requirement: To strengthen the language skills of our students, they are required to take 18-credit courses in Chinese, English, and Putonghua.

● Departmental requirement: The departmental requirement courses provide student a solid foundation in business education and enable them to progress to more in-depth study in business.

● Concentration electives: There are four elective courses (12 units) for each concentration, which allow our students to develop professional knowledge in that area.

● Electives:  Students can choose from any courses in different academic fields to broaden their horizon.

● Career Prospects

Our graduates will possess a solid, generalist background that can be used to mount the widest possible job search. Most of our graduates started their career in the fields of marketing, administration, banking and finance, advertising and logistics management.  In short, the program prepares graduates for a globalized and rapidly changing business world, where individuals may pursue a number of different careers during their working lives.



Graduates may also pursue further studies in different professional tracks locally or in other countries.  They are eligible for admission to the MBA program jointly offered by the University of Louisiana at Monroe (USA) and Shue Yan University in Hong Kong.









Exemptions from Professional Bodies



Graduates of our Financial Services and Planning concentration may exempt the following modules in the Certified Financial Planner (CFP) Examination of Institute of Financial Planners of Hong Kong:



Module 1: Foundation of Financial Planning

Module 2: Insurance

Module 3: Investments

Module 4: Taxation and Tax Planning



Exemption from Hong Kong Securities Institute’s Licensing Examination for Securities and Futures Intermediaries (SFC):

Paper 7: Financial Markets

Paper 8: Securities





Graduates of our BBA (Hons.) Program may exempt the following two modules in the Professional Program of Hong Kong Institute of Chartered Secretaries:

Module 1: Strategic & Operations Management

Module 3: Hong Kong Financial Accounting
