(1) Professor of Business Administration and Head of Department
Weare looking for a senior academic, from any major area(s) of businessadministration, who is able and willing to provide academic leadershipin research, teaching and external contacts. Senior academics nearingretirement from universities in Hong Kong or the region are encouragedto apply as we have no rigid retirement age. Candidates should have adoctorate, a distinguished record of scholarship and publications, andrelevant experience of academic leadership.
(2) Assistant Professors
We are looking for candidates whose expertise falls in one or more ofthe following areas: quantitative methods, financial management,organization behavior, business communication, China business, andcorporate governance. Full-Time Positions in Sociology
TheDepartment of Sociology seeks candidates for two full-time positions tobegin in September 2008. Title and salary will depend on theapplicants' qualifications, teaching experience and research profile.Applicants should have a Ph.D. degree by time of appointment. Ph.D.candidates who are close to finishing their dissertation will beconsidered. The University does not have a retirement age; senioracademics nearing retirement are also encouraged to apply. Teachingresponsibilities will include both introductory and advanced sociologycourses. Fields are open but we are particularly interested incandidates whose teaching and research fall into one or more of thefollowing areas: quantitative research methods, cultural studies, lifecourse and aging, sport and leisure or travel and tourism.

FT/PT Positions in Economics/Finance
TheDepartment of Economics, founded in 1977, offers a well structuredfour-year Bachelor of Arts with Honours in Economics and Financeprogramme to students who are interested in exploring the intellectualfoundations and current developments in Economics and Finance theoryand their applications in the workplace. Today, it comprises 7 fulltime and 2 part-time faculty members and 244 students. The Departmenthas vacancies for one full-time and one part-time staff. The posts areavailable from September 1, 2008.
Applicantsshould have a Ph.D. in Economics or Finance. Depending on the record ofresearch and publications and previous experience, appointment will beat the level of assistant, associate or full professor. Foundedin 1971, Hong Kong Shue Yan University is an independent liberal artsuniversity which is Hong Kong’s first private university. TheDepartment of Accounting offers a four-year honours degree inAccounting, which has also been accredited by the Hong Kong Instituteof Certified Public Accountants for direct entry into its QualificationProgramme. The University has vacancies for
full-time and
part-time appointments in accounting.
For the full-time position, to be made at the rank of
assistant professor, applicants should have a
Ph.D.in accounting or related area, a proven record of research, andrelevant teaching experience at degree level. The successful candidatemay be required to teach some of the senior-level courses includingAccounting Theory, Accounting Research Methodology, InternationalAccounting, Accounting System in China. Applicants with a master'sdegree and a professional accounting certification along with a solidbackground in university degree teaching will be considered as aTeaching Fellow or an Instructor.
