MARTIN JOL’S odds on being the first Premier League boss to be axed this
season have tumbled — as the race to be his successor begins.
Tottenham’s disastrous start to the season has seen under-fire boss Jol now
quoted at just 6-1 with Ladbrokes, from 25-1, to win the sack race.
Seville boss Juande Ramos, who has won the UEFA Cup with the Spanish club
two years in a row, is already quoted as the 7-4 favourite to replace the
crying Dutchman.
Former Spurs hitman Jurgen Klinsmann is 3-1, La Liga winner Fabio Capello
5-1 and Blackburn boss Mark Hughes 12-1.
Spurs, who have spent £40million on new players this summer, slumped to the
bottom of the Premier League after Tuesday’s 3-1 home defeat against
Everton.
Season-ticket holder Joe Sheeran said: “Jol probably has until Christmas
before the board do something but having spent all that money the pressure
is really on him. We have to beat Derby on Saturday.”
