什麼是蛋白質？它們是怎麼折疊的呢？
蛋白質是一個生物體系的網路基礎，它是一個個納米級電腦。在蛋白質實現它的生物功能之前，它們會把自己裝配起來，或者說是折疊；雖然蛋白質折疊對所以的生物來說是最基本的和最明確的事實，但它的折疊過程對人類而言仍然是個未解之謎。此外，當蛋白質沒有正確的折疊（誤折）無疑會產生嚴重的後果，包括許多知名的疾病，比方阿茲海默症(Alzheimer's)，瘋牛病(Mad Cow, BSE)，可傳播性海綿狀腦病(CJD)，肌萎縮性脊髓側索硬化症(ALS)，還有帕金森氏症(Parkinson's)。

Folding@home是一個研究蛋白質折疊，誤解，聚合及由此引起的相關疾病的分散式計算工程。我們使用聯網式的計算方式和大量的分散式計算能力來模擬蛋白質折疊的過程，並指引我們近期對由折疊引起的疾病的一系列研究。

您可以為我們做什麼？

[b]步驟 1 - 下載客戶端[/b]
請到[url=http://folding.stanford.edu/download.html]http://folding.stanford.edu/download.html[/url]下載 "No-nonsense" text-only console 客戶端到你的桌面。

[b]步驟 2 - 建立目錄[/b]
請建立一個目錄來放置FAH504-Console.exe (例如 C:\folding)，並將FAH504-Console.exe到這個目錄。

[b]步驟 3 - 設定 FOLD at HOME[/b]
點擊FAH504-Console
然後會現在一個Dos 的(畫面。
在選項中按 [ENTER] 就會使用預設的設定 (或你之前的設定)，你可在 [ ] 中看到預設的設定。
首先輸入 Username (用戶名稱)，然後ENTER,我們的 team number (隊伍編號) 為80268 。如果沒甚麼需要特別設定的了,只要繼續按ENTER即可。

[b]步驟 4 - 運行及關閉[/b]
要運行，請點擊AH504-Console。
執行後，下面的畫面會出現。

[b][size=4]離開客戶端，請按 "CTRL+C" ，不要拉 [X] 。[/size][/b]
[size=4][b]關閉電腦前,再關掉這軟件![/b][/size]

我好耐之前都係EPC :), 哈,換左新電腦之前冇再run 呢個programme .

其實係一個軟件,借用你電腦的運算能力,去解決本來要用超級電腦先解決到既問題。

但因為佢優先度set 左最低,唔會影響你日常上網,聽歌等等。

你完成左目前個個之後,再download 過個軟件,再輸入便可。
