United in Anelka link
Reports in England and France are linking Manchester United with a move for Bolton striker Nicolas Anelka.
The Frenchman made a decent return to the Premiership last season following an £8million summer switch from Fenerbahce.
Anelka scored 11 league goals in his first year at The Reebok Stadium having initially struggled to find his goalscoring touch.
According to France Football, United, Newcastle and Barcelona are ready to battle it out to try and land Anelka.
Newcastle manager Sam Allardyce brought Anelka to Bolton and may try to sign him again, although the 28-year-old wants to play European football next season.
Barcelona could target Anelka as Samuel Eto'o's replacement should the Cameroon international depart the Camp Nou over the summer.
However, Premiership champions United have reportedly already made an initial move for the former Arsenal front man by enquiring about his availability.
It is yet to be seen whether Bolton will be willing to let Anelka to move on, with him still having three years remaining on the contract he signed when he joined last summer.

Barca to fight for Eto'o
Reports in Spain claim Barcelona will fight tooth and nail to keep Samuel Eto'o in the face of renewed interest from a host of Europe's most powerful clubs.
The Cameroon striker - who is currently on international duty preparing for a match with Liberia on Saturday - has enjoyed another productive season for Barca despite a serious knee injury earlier in the campaign that sidelined him for four months.
The African has still managed to bag 13 goals - including 12 in 15 league starts - cementing his reputation as one of the continent's top marksmen.
However, renowned for his outspoken views, Eto'o has caused a certain amount of unrest at Camp Nou and had a highly-publicised fall-out with Ronaldinho earlier in the term.
It was thought that Barca were preparing to offload him this summer with Arsenal's Thierry Henry his preferred replacement, but the Catalan giants are now reported to have changed their stance.
His fine form, which has been the catalyst for Barca's resurgent title bid, has convinced the club's hierarchy to retain his services although they will make it clear to the 26-year-old that further controversial outbursts will not be tolerated.
Eto'o's list of admirers reads like a who's who of Europe's premier outfits with Manchester United, Chelsea, Liverpool, Arsenal, Milan and Internazionale all ready to make their move given encouragement.
Rafa Benitez, armed with a substantial summer transfer kitty, is thought to have pinpointed Eto'o as the prolific goalscorer to spearhead what is likely to be a revamped side next term with Spanish sports newspaper AS claiming an incredible ?60 million (£40 million) is being readied.
They would be sure to face stiff competition for the former Mallorca hot-man, although it would now appear that Barca will shun all offers to keep hold of their coveted striker.

Mac calls for Owen caution
Steve McClaren has urged the need to show patience as Michael Owen prepares to make his return to international football.
Owen will pull on an England shirt for the first time since last summer's World Cup when he starts Friday's B friendly against Albania at Turf Moor.
The Newcastle United striker damaged knee ligaments in a group game against Sweden in Germany and he has only recently returned to club action.
England coach McClaren is delighted to have Owen back in his plans, but is adopting a cautious approach to the impact the nippy hit-man will have against Albania.
"From a personal point of view, it's terrific to have him back in the England squad and we've missed him for the year," said McClaren on Sky Sports News.
"There's been many, many times he has been our saviour and over the year we have missed that, so it's great to have him back on the training field and fit.
"From his point of view it's a massive boost because it was a bad injury, but he has come through it, and shown great character and attitude.
"He looks sharp, he looks fit, he looks strong. Let's not expect too much from him, let's not put too much pressure on him because it was a bad injury.
"He'll need games, he needs training sessions and he's getting them at the moment."
Owen will be partnered in attack against Albania by Alan Smith and McClaren praised the Manchester United striker's recovery from injury.
He added: "Again, it was another horrendous injury and it really shows the character and attitude of these players to come back from bad injuries.
"Alan Smith, especially, that was horrendous. He has got guts, he's got character and he has showed that to be back playing.
"I saw him quite a few times for Manchester United at the end of the season and he impressed me more in his attitude, and he's one of those players who has got the experience.
"He can wear the shirt, it's not too big for him. It's great to have him back and his attitude on the training ground."

Berbatov open to Spurs talks
Dimitar Berbatov's agent has rejected speculation linking the player with a move away from Tottenham and says the Bulgarian is open to holding talks over a new deal at White Hart Lane.
Reports on Friday suggested Manchester United were preparing a massive player plus cash deal to lure Berbatov to Old Trafford.
Berbatov's future has been the subject of intense speculation for the last few months following his stellar displays this term for Tottenham.
The likes of Chelsea, Liverpool and United are all thought to be weighing up moves for the former Bayer Leverkusen man.
Spurs are keen to keep hold of the talented forward and are believed to be ready to offer Berbatov a lucrative new deal to persuade the player to stay.
Berbatov's agent Emil Dantchev rejected the rumours of a possible move away and insists his client is happy to have talks over a new deal at White Hart Lane.
"I have seen the reports but it is all just speculation," Dantchev told skysports.com
"Nothing has changed - Dimitar is under contract at Tottenham.
"He is happy there and he has had a wonderful season.
"Dimitar is currently on his holidays and then he is away with the national team for some games.
"If Tottenham want to talk about a new deal we will be happy to have talks as everybody is happy at the moment."

gina 2007-6-2 03:49 AM
no money la.........3 players cost them 47 m already.......:(
Kyan 2007-6-2 04:54 PM
3m (transfer budget : 50m - 47m)
其實真係夠買多個Anelka (8m) /Owen (9m)

Manchester United chief executive David Gill has admitted the club may sign a new striker this summer.
The Premiership champions have already been busy in the transfer market setting up deals for Owen Hargreaves, Nani and Anderson.
Despite this spree Gill says the spending at Old Trafford may not be finished with yet as the club ponder bringing in a new striker.
United have been linked with a number of top forwards in recent weeks including Dimitar Berbatov and Samuel Eto'o and Gill has hinted Sir Alex Ferguson may move for a new striker before the start of next season.
"We have looked at it and we don't rule out another [signing]," Gill told Sky Sports News.
"The area which is a striker but we will see what happens.
"We are not desperate for it but if one came along that Alex [Ferguson] and the team felt would improve the squad we are prepared to do that."
Gill also revealed that as a result of the new arrivals there will be the inevitable departures for some players at Old Trafford.
"There will be some changes but it would be wrong to comment as to that but I think they will be discussions we will have internally," added Gill.
"We have a got a large squad now there should be some people leaving, not many at all.
"There should be some leaving and don't forget we have some great players coming back who have been on loan.
"We want competition for places, we are looking to improve the squad and to take it on from last year
"We are not resting on our laurels, we want to do even better next year on the pitch.
"Alex is always looking to improve the quality of the team we have out there."
